Uber rides in Singapore

I am planning to visit Singapore from 12-16 April 2018. In order to save travelling time and maximise on time spent in attractions, i would like to use the Uber Service. Is there any other recommended taxi service?

And for Uber service, can i use the UberX for rides for 3 adults and 2 children (aged 7 and 11) - 1 adult in front seat and 2 adults and 2 children in back seats?

Thanks in advance

If one is always cheapest, then the others will die a quick death. It depends on the timing and demand.

Hi Daisy,

All 3 are technically the same price because they are all metered and booking fees are chargeable at 2.30-3.30 (depending on the hour and the taxi company, but you can not select the brand, so you may get a comfort, transcab, SMRT, etc). If you are sticking to taxis, You might want to just use ComfortDelGro app with cash payment as they tend to have the highest availability but card payment will incur extra charge 10% admin fee(there is a master pass promo for bookings via app that waives the 10% promo - https://www.cdgtaxi.com.sg/web/corp/detail-promotions?primaryKey=3858170) while GrabTaxi and UberTaxi absorbs it.

Frankly, it not that much of a difference. But during peak hours, Grab and Uber can get very expensive

Hi, not to forget that booking a taxi will result in a booking fees. Same goes for booking taxi while using Grab, Uber, taxi app, etc. Flagging a taxi off the street do not have any booking fees at all. There will be surcharges during peak hours or pick up from certain areas ie. Changi airport. Maybe you can watch out for some discount codes while using the apps to book.
