7pm Sat till 12 noon Sunday, suggestions pl

Hi,

We will be in transit, reaching Singapore (in July) by 4 pm on Saturday , leaving by 3 pm flight on Sunday.

Been in Singapore twice before, but never got a chance to visit the Gardens by the Bay and was planning for the same.

However, read a review about the crowds during weekends. Will crowds be a problem ?

Any other suggestions pl (not considering the night safari or night tour)

We are a family with kids 10 and 14.

Thanks in advance

I don't think there will be much crowds at the GBB at night. But if you are doing both conservatories, then you might be short of time.

You are obviously going to need a hotel so if you want suggestions then please state your budget per room, per night in SGD and bear in mind your 14 year old will be classed as an adult.

If you take a taxi to your hotel you could be there for about 5.30pm. Perhaps head down to Marina Bay where you can wander round , grab dinner and see the light show at Marina Bay

You may be able to squeeze GBTB in the next morning, the Domes open at 9am but the Gardens are open earlier.

Never had problems with crowds :)

Thanks teebs, I read this in one of the TA review.

Glad to get your feedback, the lat think we want is to spend a long time in a queue after a flight (and with kids)

Thanks Desk29,

We are planning to book a room, but thought of firming up our plans /location first.

Because of the humidity, we would prefer to spend time indoors on Sunday morning (and then to the airport)

Then the domes will fit the bill :)

Hi,

Both conservatories at Gardens By the Bay are temperature controlled (23-25C). They opened at 9am. So it will work if you want to visit on Sunday.

A 3pm flight means you have to be at the airport by 1pm. So that leaves you with about 3 hours to do the Conservatories and then pick up bags and leave for the airport. You can have lunch at the airport after you have checked in for your flight.

Thanks SingaporeNancy and Desk29,

I was considering the outdoor gardens also, but might be better to skip them (or use auto rider).

Hi,

The standard rate (as mentioned in their website) is for both conservatories.

Are only residents allowed to buy tickets for one conservatory ? (We might be able to visit only one in case we are late)

Thanks,

You can buy tickets for one conservatory if you buy from the ticket booth onsite. S$16/dome.

GBTB is more crowded on the weekends but other than the slight congestion at the Dragonfly Bridge after the light show, it is still manageable unless there is some major special event.

OK, thanks.

Pl also suggest some hotels in the area (budget around 350 SGD, for two adults + 2 kids 14 and 10)

Last time we stayed in the City hall area, would like to try some other area this time.
