I would love recommendations. Which ones? What times? Eager to try these! Thanks.
Do check out Old Airport Road Food Centre which is accessible by MRT Circle (Yellow) Line; it is located in between Dakota Station and Mountbatten Station. Some stalls open as early as 8:00am and you'll be able to find stalls open till as late as midnight.Edited: 19 September 2018, 09:27
As there are over a 100 hawker centers in Singapore and everyone has their own preference the list can be quite long also it depends if the are near to you or if you are happy to travel but these are a few of our favorites that we have gone to on multiple occasions -
Old Airport Road
It will be helpful if you can tell in which area you will be staying and your rough itinerary so that we can recommend hawker centres/ food courts near the places that you will stay and visit. There are good hawker centres spread across Singapore. There isn't much point in recommending one at a place far from where you stay or where you don't intend to visit.
Staying at Fairmont hotel
Fab tips. Love that you tube. Must admit. It was Anthony Boudain who first introduced these to me. RIP
As a first time visitor you may want to experience
- eating satays in the evening on Boon Tat Street next Lau Pa Sat
- Gluttons bay by the Marina
- Chicken rice at Tian Tian stall in Maxwell food centre
- East Coast Park food centre by the ocean in the evening
And don't hesitate to try any hawker centre/food court. Prices are very affordable and food is great.
Lau pa sat is my choice. In downtown area Telok Ayer Mrt
