Need advice - going to Nantucket, Cape.Cod & Martha’s vineyd

Hoping to check all three of these off my bucket list in the next four days! We arrive by car in Hyannis - Monday 6/10 - staying at the Hyannis Harbor Hotel. Would love your advice on what to do - what not to since we only have four days there.

We are two active 60 year olds hubby and wife - love the beach (from California). I love to shop for unique souvenirs for our home from our travels and hubby enjoys walking and taking in the sights.

Would love advice on which area to go to first, which casual restaurants to eat at (seafood preferred) which ferry should we take - heard the faster one is better. We are going to leave our car on Hyannis unless you recommend we drive somewhere.

Thank TripAdvisor friends!

Are you planning day trips to each of the Islands from Hyannis? The Steamship Authority runs a special on its fast ferry to Nantucket for day trips - $50.00 round trip Mon-Thurs and the travel time is only an hour. You will find lots of shopping in Nantucket town (most of it expensive). You could visit the Whaling Museum which is located right off the ferry dock, they offer walking tours of town as well. It is a very good tour. The Charlie Nobel on South Water St has good food and is reasonable (for Nantucket). http://www.thecharlienoble.com/

Center St. Bistro is also good for lunch. http://www.nantucketbistro.com/

You could take the shuttle out to Cisco Brewery, where they give tours, usually lots of food trucks there with really fresh oysters, and other seafood. Very fun atmosphere, music, etc in addition to beer, they also make vodka and wine.

As for the Vineyard, you would take the Hyline ferry from Hyannis, the trip is about an hour and is $59. round trip. You arrive in Oak Bluffs on the Vineyard which is a fun town with lots of good places to eat. The deck at Nancy's is pretty popular on a nice day. Definitely visit the Gingerbread Cottages, some wonderful opportunities for pictures there! You can take the bus between OB and Edgartown which has beautiful old houses and a very pretty harbor. You can walk out to Edgartown lighthouse, go shopping (lots & lots of shops both here and in OB) You could also have lunch on the deck of the Seafood Shanty which has a pretty view.

There are walking tours available, both guided and self-guided.

Wonderful suggestions from Kendrick. You cannot fail to have an enjoyable time both on Nantucket and the Vineyard.

Notable on Nantucket is also the small village of Siasconsett which can reached by bike or by local transportation "the Wave" The village is charming and the Cliff Walk.

While in Nantucket you can't miss Something Natural for luncheon sandwiches. You'll be amazed with the menu most 1/2 sandwiches will fill you up. Great cookies and bread love the Herb and Raisen bread for toast.

Just a short walk out of town on Cliff Rd.

Great you won't be disappointed.

Nantucket is one of my favorite places.
