If the ยฃ500 per person needs to include flights then you may struggle.

Can you confirm if your budget is accommodation only ?

I think youโ€™d be struggling for 500 gbp for 10 nights stay in Dubai mid-Feb. If you could stretch your budget to 75-100/night youโ€™d be okay.

75 per night budget would likely you get a hotel apartment in Discovery Gardens, Al Barsha or similar.

What you also need to factor in is location as well as likely activities. You could pick a great deal for a lower price somewhere like Dubailand, DIP or Motor City, or even in Old Dubai/Bur Dubai/Karama but itโ€™s not likely to be close to a beach and cost savings may be offset by any taxis.

Happy to help you with your search but price bracket seems restrictive and you need to be sure youโ€™re going to benefit from being in Dubai. If itโ€™s just sun and fine weather youโ€™re looking for, maybe consider a cheaper location eg Abu Dhabi or RAK perhaps?

Hi and thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. Ok probably Abu Dhabi then if itโ€™s a cheaper option. Iโ€™ve been to Morocco - Marrakech a few times also turkey and Egypt so wanted something different. Or even the old town of Dubai would be great

How much would it cost roughly per person including flights for a b&b hotel in the old town of Dubai or even Abu Dhabi

Are your dates fixed, or would any time in Feb suit? See, it's a bit early in the sales cycle to book for Feb, so there's a good chance hotel/accom prices will drop. Not as many hotels will be offering inventory for Feb as opposed to within 6 - 3 months of travel, so there's not as much supply around, which may be why prices are a little more expensive.

You could perhaps find somewhere in Old Dubai for around 60-70 per night, perhaps cheaper if you jiggled the dates about or maybe even found pre-paid deals (no cancellations).

Another good tip would be to book something you're happy with now, even if it's a bit more expensive, but make sure it's a free cancellation. This way then you can use a price-drop site to monitor your booking, and if the price does come down, you just rebook with the new deal.

One challenge with small children and booking hotels is that the OTAs often will automatically offer you bigger rooms, which may increase the cost. Sometimes it's wiser to contact a hotel direct and see if you can find a deal too, as they usually have more flexibility.

Airbnb and hotel apartments are also worth looking at. In reality, some familes may only need one Queen/double room and put the 3 kids in one bed/sofa-bed, so you really need to weigh up if you're happy with the sleeping arragements as much as the price.

Same thing with flights - the prices quoted now may drop in time, as agents are looking to get in early bookings in before they realise they've too much inventory and need to drop prices. It may be worth calling an agent or two to see what they can offer you now, especially if you offer to pay all up front and perhaps even on a non-cancellation deal to get the lowest price.

To illustrate the reason why prices are a bit steep, if you look at somewhere like W or St Regis (normally 1-15,00/night) they're currently showing direct bookings at 53k AED/night.

A lot of it is down to the foibles of booking systems, but it does illustrate the point that there's often not really too much value in booking too far in advance - Dubai especially. Dubai has far too many hotel rooms for it to maintain prices and occupancy levels, so there are always deals to be had.

I'd be confident you could find somewhere for 40 GBP night even if you only booked at short notice, so don't be disheartened ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks so so much. My months to travel are flexible but would want to go weโ€™re the weather is mid to high 20โ€™s with no rain lol.

Is there any child friendly resorts in the old town or Abu Dhabi. Need to keep kids more occupied really. Like maybe a games room which has mini funfair rides and a playground.

Whatโ€™s the prices like eating out for food and drinks? Like is it cheap like under ยฃ10 for all. Or is it best to book half board or all inclusive

Firstly, look at apartments rather than hotel rooms. You will get more space and kitchen facilities.

Secondly, you won't feed everyone for less than ยฃ10 unless you shop in a supermarket and cook it yourself.

Thirdly, all hotels and apartment are child friendly but you won't get all the facilities you want for the price you are prepared to pay. Instead take advantage of the malls, all of which have large kids playgrounds and attractions.

Fourthly, February is usually the month with the highest rainfall so none of us can guarantee that you won't get rain. March is a good time with less chance of rain but prices are higher. Avoid February half term as prices are higher.

I go back to my original point about flights - does your budget include flight or not ? When you consider that a return flight to Dubai will cost roughly ยฃ350-400 each then that leaves hardly anything for accommodation.

On the plus side I can see 10 days including direct flights from Birmingham with Emirates in a family suite at Golden Sands apartments for ยฃ563 - it's on a special deal sale today but there are no meals included.

You will not get half board or all inclusive for your budget.
