Private boat trip with picnic?

Hi everyone

Its a number of years since I've posted on the forum and it's great to see the regulars are still here. We are going back to Dubai in October, staying at the Grosvenor House. We have persuaded my brother, sister and partners to come with us. One is 60 and one is 50 in Sept. I would like to surprise them with a bit of a birthday celebration and considered doing maybe 4hrs on a private boat with drinks and a picnic/bbq. It may be a silly question but I'll ask anyway: can boats access any of the islands around The World or anywhere similar?

Does anyone have any recommendations? I know there are numerous links to trips and boat hire, I prefer to go off any advice from you guys?

In my 10 or so visits to Dubai over a number of years, I have shamefully never been on the creek or spice souk over that way. I would like to take the family over there, I know Latimer was an advocate of Basta Arts Café, is this still going and if so is it still worth a visit? Again any advice will be gratefully rec'd.

Many thanks

Fiona

You can take a trip to "Lebanon" at The World. Not quite what you've said you're looking for but the boat trip is included and the is a bar and restaurant there. You can book a cabin if you want more privacy and they may do you a bbq to order.

Hi Anoif

Good to hear from you again. The Basta Art cafe is still going, although it has changed its name to Arabian Tea House restaurant.

The creek area has also been developed to include a new destination area called Al Seef, which is definitely worth a visit for the restored houses, shops and cafes.

I can't help with picnic boats but xclusive yachts does get other mentions on here and if you want a special tour in the desert then Platinum Heritage would be new since your last visit so check out one of their desert tours.

I think the only area you can get to is 'Lebanon' as a day visitor. The other islands are out of bounds... we tried to fish there once and were chased off 'nicely' by security.

Have used Xclusive before and also http://www.colorofthesea.com for corporate groups. If there are only a few of you, it might be worth contacting Yellow Boats - they have some fishing boats that may be available for lunchtime charters after they have been out fishing first thing.

Xclusive Yachts gets a lot of positive reviews. Yellow boats as Sean mentions may be another option.

As above Arabian Tea House is still there but a number of cafes can be found in Bastakiya area - definitely worth a visit and The Al Seef development is still under development in part, it's a must visit when in this area.

I'd have a look around The Museum and you may enjoy a visit to The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Culture and Understanding or perhaps take an abra over the creek to the gold souk.

A marine cruise that gives memories for a lifetime through the heart of Dubai. Royal blue coast yachts Dubai is the only yacht charter company to own its own fleet which sets the industry benchmarks & standards and made us the pioneers in yacht chartering. Their experience and hospitality knowledge always helped them to cater the needs of a client’s individual party.I recommended "https://rbcyachtrental.com" for better experiance and surely RBC will help you to become your picnic awesome.
