Currency exchange in Goa

Hi,

Myself and 6 others will be in Goa from 1st Jan 2017 until 12th Jan 2017.

We are concerned about the situation regarding exchanging our pound into Rupees.

Has anyone got any advice? Is it as bad as they are saying on the news? are there places in Goa where will be able to get Rupees?

Thanks

A few places are doing money exchange but often at a very poor xrate also some restaurants and shacks will take sterling as payment at fair rates but getting money from ATM's using plastic is the best way for a good rate but check out the charges your card suppier will make, some cards are free of charges or much cheaper than others

Halifax clarity card has no foreign charges, mine arrived in about working 4 days from application. Only thing your charges is interest in cash withdrawals, but if you pay it off straight away it's no problem.

Roger that's awful. No one in their right mind would accept that. The Bank rate to change £60 Sterling last Friday was 84.6 !

janboxer Hi, I can only comment on the Clarity card. It is a credit card, if you purchase goods they use a good variable conversion rate but more importantly they don't add a user fee as some cards do. You can use the card iin an ATM to withdraw cash. They charge no fee for this unlike some cards. They do charge interest from day 1 of the cash withdrawal but if you can pay off the withdrawn amounts in advance of your statement.

The card comes well recommended.
