What are my options for getting from Mitzpe Ramon to Ein Gedi? Thanks!
By taxi it would be extremely expensive.
Mitzpe Ramon is not listed in the official Transport Ministry taxi fares list. To give you an idea, Beersheva to Ein Gedi is 467 shekels (571 shekels on Saturdays and holidays), in one direction. Extra charge for more than two people, and for luggage. The distance from Beersheva to Ein Gedi is 83 km. From Mitzpe Ramon to Ein Gedi is 157 km., so it's twice the distance. You can assume twice the fare. Total fare (round trip) would be not far short of NIS 2,000, which at today's exchange rate is $570.
There are frequent buses from Mitzpe Ramon to Beersheva, and a few buses a day from Beersheva to Ein Gedi. You could take the 65 bus at 7:50 from Mitzpe Ramon, arriving Beersheva at 9:03; and from Beersheva the 384 at 9:40, arriving Ein Gedi at 12.
It's a convoluted journey because the roads are where they are, and there is no direct road from MR to EG.Edited: 05 November 2017, 18:45
