Suggestion for spending the remaining hours in Japan

After our cruise arrivals at the Yokohama port on Oct 16, 2018 morning, we have to wait so many hours before we catch our Narita flight at 21:00 p.m.

1. Please give us some suggestions to spend those hours in Japan?

2. Do you suggest we taking the public transit instead of cruise bus to the airport in order to eat or see the real local life of Japan.

3 If we store our luggage at the airport and go around, where should we go to fulfil this theme?

With your valuable suggestion, I believe we can make a better plan to fulfil our unforgettable journey. Look forwards in hearing your good news soon. Thanks.

If you don't take the cruise bus to the airport, what do you intend to do with your luggage, and how much do you have, and how spry are members of the party?

If you have a reasonable amount of luggage and are spry enough, close to the cruise port is a station of the Tokyu Toyoko line which will get you a straight shot to Shibuya Station. That is a big enough station that would probably have lockers. Don't forget though that you will have to get back there, and then schlep to Narita from there.

If you take the cruise bus to the airport, your airline may not be open to check in luggage, but there is luggage storage there. It is not impossible to get back into a part of Tokyo for some wandering but a closer alternative might be Narita the town which is more easily reachable.

I think those are your factors.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Are you spending any other time in Japan? Why leave right away?

There are a number of luggage storage options at Yokohama station if you want to stay in the area and explore. From Yokohama you can take the Narita Express train or limousine bus to the airport: https:/…

Diamond Princess and Amsterdam will arrive in Yokohama Port on October 16 morning. Diamond Princess is scheduled to dock at Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal. Amsterdam's dock wharf hasn't been published yet. Other possible wharves are Yamashita and Daikoku.

If you’re sightsee in Yokohama before you head to the airport, you can leave your luggage at Sakuragicho station which is one of the closest stations in Minatomirai area. It’s a cloak with staffs so you don’t need to worry about it getting full. Cost is 500yen/luggage.

You can get to main attractions in Yokohama with a short train rides from there. And just a minute ride of Keihin-Tohoku line fron Sakuragicho, you can easily reach to Yokohama station where Narita Express train departs.

NRT is far from central Tokyo so I think it’s waste of time and money to go there before you explore.

Thanks for everyone's suggestion.

Since we paid our agent to arrange the transportation of the cruise bringing us to the airport. We don't know whether we allow to stay behind. That will be great if we can, so that we can view something different at Yokohama.

Can any one suggests if we have to go the airport after the cruise is finished. With several hours at the airport, we intend to see or eat something locally. Of course we have to leave our luggage safely at or close to the airport.

1. Is there any suggestion where to store the luggage close or at the airport with small charge.

2. In order to get back to the airport for our flight, where should we go?

Looking forwards for everyone's direction. Thanks.

If you have to go to the airport straight after your cruise ship docks, you could spend a few hours exploring Narita city: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6400.html
