Well, it's a rather grungy area at night. There are quite a lot of decent bars and diners (inexpensive sushi) there, but also lot of people with strong strange accents in Japanese and looking quite desperate, women who would all too happy to rip off your wallet at some point at night, insisting persistently for a massage. Unless you want to do a social experiment exploring how many of these people are honest people wanting to make friends with you, do keep away, or you could end up looking like your icon picture the next day...
Edited: 29 January 2017, 02:39Actually, Asakusabashi east of Akihabara offers more than Kanda in terms of izakaya and dining. While most of Kanda is fine, they have these strange women on the streets with a quite distinctive non-Japanese manner of grabbing your arm so persistently which is a bit scary.
Edited: 29 January 2017, 02:48Thanks for the advice. I think I will avoid this area, at least at night.
You don't necessarily have to avoid Kanda; you'd just have to avoid those con women, who are mostly at the south-eastern side of the station. What is strange about those women from the continent is that they come right after you and grab your arm after you've dodged them, ... so persistent.
