Fashion Magazines

I have read somewhere that magazines such as glamour and Cosmo won't be allowed into the Maldives, just wondered, as I'd usually get these for a long flight, is there any truth in this?

I can't think you'd have a problem with these.

You can leave them for the spa girls if you don't want to bring them home.

I always take a selection of glossy magazines, including the onesyou identified and have never had a problem. Have sometimes found some left in rooms by previous guests as well.

That used to be the case many years ago, magazines that showed things like breast enhancement act were taken but not for many many years now.

they have alcohol detectors in arrivals but not glossy mags detectors lol.

Never seen any cases opened for alcohol on arrival never mind glossy mags.

How they gonna know what you have in hand luggage/luggage unless they open it?

The customs declaration mentions "no pornograpohic items" which i suppose you could argue is open to interpretation but the OH always has Cosmo/Red/Marie Claire and all the other similar mags in her hand luggage (and mine!) and has never had a problem
