We are looking to spend 4d/3n in the Tambopata reserve in December (roughly 20-25). Will the rainy season have ended by then?
We understand that going up the river and getting away from Puerto Maldonado is better than staying closer to town. While we don't want to go for the cheapest option, we cannot afford to stay at Inkaterra or some place as expensive. So far, we have received some reasonable quotes (~$500/person for 4d3n) from Chuncho Lodge and Rainforest Expeditions. Are there any others in this range that we should consider?
We are primarily looking for wildlife excursion and activities (not so much into canoeing, kayaking, hiking etc). So we would like to find a lodge whose location offers us plenty of those opportunities. Do all lodges up the river have the same proximity to sites for wildlife viewing?
