Resale of ticket - warning

Hi

I get a lot of questions about re-sale of tickets.

It is NOT possible to change owners of tickets without talking to FIFA and get their approval. Just having a ticket to enter is also not enough, you need a Fan ID

So do not buy tickets second hand from private persons or companies!

actually thats not correct as long as its a valid ticket and you already have fan ID you can buy it. Only a problem if FIFA cancel the ticket but thats very unlikely.

If you read on fifa official site it says clearly that you need to go through them if you want to sell your ticket.

They will for sure check the tickets and compare names. They even checked my tickets on the border....

Would never ever take that chance buying second hand

I think this is basically about what the rules are on paper and what they are in practice. I haven't had ticket details checked anywhere either (at the Russian border, in Belarus, at games). But you can't say they won't check it so it's obviously a risk.

Then again if your choice is "take a risk and maybe lose some money" or "don't even try and 100% miss the game" then some people might say it's worth it. It's hard to see what other choice you have if you can't get one from FIFA.
