Palace of the Golden Horses

We are in KL for 10 nights and looking at somewhere unusual to stay for a couple of nights.

The Palace of the Golden Horses looks nice but I've searched the forums on alternative ways to get there from KL and all it came up with was by Taxi.

Is there a train station nearby or could we catch a train part of the way? If so, what is the name of the closest train station and will they have taxis at the station?

Thanks.

The closest station would be the Sungai Besi LRT station, which is about 2.4km away from the Palace of the Golden Horses. Whether there are taxis there waiting would depend on how lucky you are.

The other alternative is the main southern bus terminal for Kuala Lumpur called the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan at Bandar Tasik Selatan. The LRT also stops here (before Sungai Besi LRT station), and there are definitely taxis here. Bandar Tasik Selatan is about 4km away from the Palace of the Golden Horses.

Thank you for that information, it doesn't seem so badly located after all.

Its a bit isolated in the sense that the hotel is hemmed in by the golf course on one side, the race course on the other and a busy highway on the other side. So there is nothing within walking distance around it.

Mines shopping centre is just near the hotel. This is where we had our glasses made up quickly and cheap. It has a canal going thru the shopping centre which takes you right up to the back of the hotel on the big lake.

Link will work if you copy and paste into google maps Danuta!

Shah Alam, Sepang Gold Coast, Port Dickson, Berjaya Hills might be worth considering . . .
