Hello rhonda21australia

I've just noticed you have a couple of posts (questions) in the Wiang forum.

I'll bet you wondered why your post on the 22nd of November went unanswered.

The reason is, if it's not spotted straight away then it'll disappear off the first page before anyone gets a chance to answer your question.

You're more likely to get a reply if you post your questions in the Chiang Rai Forum.

Having said all this I really can't give you the answers to 90% of your questions. So I'll give you what I can rhonda.

I've never stayed at Le Meridien or the Dusit Island Resort but if you bring up any hotel booking site (location map) you will see their location and that of the Night Market, it's not far.

With regard to the shuttle service, this should be indicated on the hotels site aswell. Worst scenario is that it'll cost you a few dollars in a tuk-tuk into the Markets.

You ask

"Can anyone recommend a good tour guide"

Here a couple you can email, and ask questions, things like are they available for the dates you require.

There are more guides available for this aria if you look in the FAQ's to your right.

Some are more popular than others, so if you need a guide try to book early....to avoid disappointment :)

The Saturday Night Walking Street is something we (my wife and I) have traveled to Chiang Rai just to see.

Hopefully Broder will pick up on this and give you the info you want.

Other than that Rhonda, I can't help.

Have fun

Just beware of tour operators who say everything is included. Check what they write down on your receipt.

We paid for a minivan driver and guide, but the guide was useless. The trip was great, (white temple, golden triangle, opium museum etc...)

Of the 7 places on our itinerary, 5 were free entrance, but the other two, we were told entrance fees were not included. We basically paid for a driver. The guide wanted us to pay more for the hill tribe but we refused. We did pay for the museum ( it was cheap) but for $30 pp everything should grave been included, or tell us first. We were very annoyed.

The company is Kochaporn tours. ( kochaporntravel.com)

This happened twice to us on Chiang Rai.
