Should this be MY info or the info of the person writing the letter of invitation?
For duration of stay, how does one know? I've read here that a person coming on a tourist visa doesn't even know the length of stay allowed until passing through customs & being informed by the customs official (the duration being at his whim). Is there in fact a set length for a tourist visa? Also, please, one more question, if I could. If one wishes to extend a tourist visa, where in Lagos is that done? In some countries it can be done through tourist agencies while it others it must be through a government office.
Thank you much for your time.
Informations from both parties are contained in the LOI. The tourist visitor should have an idea of the number of days his staying in the country he intend visiting.
The High commission gives a 3-6 months VISA to any tourist visitors & for those who intend to lengthy their stay, they need apply to Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Interior (FMI) & this comes with a fee.
Hope this helps
Yes, you have been a big help. Thank you.
So then when I receive my visa from the Nigerian Embassy in DC (I'm from the US), will the High Commission have noted on the visa its length, from 3-6 months?
Is there an FMI office in Lagos?
One final question: In your initial reply you wrote "4. Period". What does that refer to?
Once more, it's so wonderful to get the facts. Thank you again.
Please when while writing your LOI, your duration should be in days (I.e 7 days, 14 days) & not in months else your request might be turned down...
During the processing of your application, the High commission gives your duration of stay either in months or yrs, it all depends on them but the minimum they give is 3 months & 6 months maximum.
Period refers to time of stay I.e from 25th, August 2017 to 7th, September 2017
Yes, there's an FMI office in Lagos, Nigeria.
Yes, the number of months will be indicated on your passport, also note that an overly excited consular could give more than 6 months. So, all depends on the mood of the individual but the maximum us 6 months.
I don't know if Agape is your name or your creed, but I certainly want to thank you so much for all your help!
