What would be the Best Tourist Mobile plan ?

Hi ,

can anyone suggest a mobile plan that could fit in for my 8 day requirement?

All I would need probably is about 5 GB data, talk time isnt too important .

Thanks

you can buy a local sim at the airport, i recommend Dialog, service is very good, 4G in all major cities/towns, 3G almost everywhere. you can get the 7GB internet package for 949 rupees (to be precise: you get 7GB during day time + 8GB during night time, so technically its 15GB)

Just checked the Dialog website, at the airport they are providing free SIM , and the tourist plan is RS 1299

9GB ( 4GB+9GB early morning) + Rs 600 ISD + 350 local calls .

If Rs 949 has been shelved, this could be the next best .

Cheers

Nope the Rs 949 should be available at every streetcorner shop. And sometimes at airport counter too - if not just ignore them and go outside. The tourist plans are notorious for looking cheap but compared to the normal plans being considerably more expensive (per minute / GB)...

at the airport once they install the sim and activate it, there is an automatic machine right next to the counter, you can activate the internet package there.

OR you can reload your sim with an additional 1000rps, write INT949 in an sms and send it to 678

and you can activate the package by yourself.

But i think at the Dialog counter they don't do reloads anymore, so they will ask you to use the machine and do it yourself, so at that point, you may as well buy the internet package directly from the machine :)
