Are there storage facilities at Mumbai Int Airport?

Hi there, we're going to be in Mumbai for 13 days at the end of May enroute to Kenya, and will be carrying a lot of luggage - most of which is for Kenya and we will not need for the time we are in India.

Does anyone know for certain whether there are luggage storage facilities at Mumbai airport where we can leave the bulk of our stuff securely for 13 days?

Cheers, Dee

No, I'm sure there aren't any such facilities available, unfortunately.

Hello Dee,

There are left luggage counters at both domestic and international terminals. You may leave luggage for up to 180 days and collect luggage left at the domestic terminals from the international one and vice versa.

More details and contact numbers at this link csia.in/knowyourairport/leftluggagefacility.…

Do call ahead and confirm the facility rates.

Thank you so much for your advice, we have a lot of luggage and to know we can offload a lot of it while we travel around India for a couple of weeks makes me feel much better. Cheers

Sorry then, I made a mistake...

Dee,

Please could you come back with a report on this facility once you've used it? It'll really help others too and will save me more embarrassment! :)

The facility is available at both the terminals but they charge a lot of money for even a single day. Do confirm the rates in advance before you plan to keep it there for a long period.

I saw this kind of facility at Bangalore train station.

Need to check if it's available at major train stations in Mumbai.

It is available at most train stations on the main line (not local trains) but one needs a train ticket with an onward journey to use the facility and it costs just Rs.10 per day (24 hours) per piece of baggage which has to be locked or else they will not accept it. The left luggage facility in the Indian Railways is called as a Cloak Room and not as Left Luggage so just look around for the sign accordingly. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Aadil.

Anyone know if the luggage can be left and/or picked up 24 hrs a day and wheter it is open on holidays. We arrive at the domestic terminal and fly out a few days later from the International terminal at 5:00 am on New Years Day.
