Travelling from Melaka to KL on Easter Sunday, bus or train?

Hello everyone,

Please could you advise on the most realistic option for travelling to KL from Melaka on Easter Sunday? Will the roads be quiet as the Monday is still a holiday? Will the buses be busier than usual on Easter Sunday or less busy?

Not sure if we will want to get a taxi to Tampin and then the train, but it seems there is only one train time for the afternoon. Would we need to get a ticket in advance for the train? Or advance ticket for the coach/bus?

Thank you!

Easter is not widely celebrated; this is predominantly a muslim country. It is not even a public holiday in Peninsular Malaysia. Monday will be just another normal working day.

If you intend to travel by coach refer below ;

All travel from Melaka Sentral to TBS in Kuala Lumpur.

You can take a LRT from TBS to wherever you are going in Kuala Lumpur. Lots of tourists takes the LRT with luggage..

KKKL -》 1st Choice

Transnasional & Delima -》 both are your 2nd Choice options

Kesatuan Express -》 Don't use them if you don't want to be stranded , keep changing coaches or sit in coaches with leaking air-con or no air-con.

Mayang Sari -》 have never tried them on any routes. Up to you.

Just book a coach ticket using Easybook or busonlineticket & screenshot the Booking receipt.

Alternatively buy it personally at Melaka Sentral while you are there if you don't mind that better coaches or seats will be taken up by then. The lousier ones are normally not full..

Show the screenshot to the ticket counter at Melaka Sentral. Ask your hotel in Melaka to print it, if possible(play safe)..

busonlineticket.com/booking/…

easybook.com/en-sg/…malacca-to-kualalumpur

My recent trip was a reverse trip from TBS in Kuala Lumpur to Melaka Sentral via KPB Ekspres but they don't seem to be available on your date.. was quite xomfortable..

Cheers

Thanks very much DDay. In your experience, how often do the buses manage to be on time?

Do you know what time of day on Sunday might be better for travel, I'm guessing earlier is better?

Melaka to TBS is a very normal route that is pretty much on time. No worries for the better coaches..

Yes earlier is better.

By the late afternoon & evening , malaysian locals will be travelling back to prepare for work the following day, Monday..

The roads & coaches are always more packed on late afternoon & nights of each holiday.. especially for routes ending in Kuala Lumpur..

Cheers

As Jadamros has mentioned, Easter Sunday has no special meaning for majority of the population.

Malacca to KL is an easy 2 hours journey by bus. I agree with Ddayrncm's 1st choice of KKKL.

Train is more complicated as you have to take a taxi to Tampin station 1 hour away, then another 2 hours on the train. There are three ETS trains a day, as well as the regular KTM Komuter train which leaves every 45 mins on Sundays.

Thanks Josh...that's good to know! I'll opt for the bus, sounds easier and if we head out in the morning I'm hoping the roads won't be too busy?

The roads should not be busy on a Sunday morning.

KPB EXPRESS coach from TBS to melaka had very bad condition.

Driver smoking in the coach even he open the window, but smell spreading inside the coach.

And strong urine smell inside the coach before the driver start smoking.

Unprofessional coach provider.
