Most people only speak of air Tahiti , but I found a much better price same times on delta is there a reason why people don’t take delta?
Delta must code-share with Air Tahiti Nui, as they don't actually fly to Tahiti. Other than the recently added "budget" airline flying out of SFO, there are only two airlines that fly to Papeete from the US mainland: Air France and Air Tahiti Nui. Hawaiian Airlines has a once-a-week flight out of Honolulu.
I flew Delta from ATL to LAX and then we flew Air France to PPT which is a Delta partner. We had a great experience with them. Left LAX at 11:55pm and arrived at 5:20 a.m. They fed is dinner and breakfast. We were able to sleep on the plane so we were ready for Bora Bora the next day. I highly recommend flying Delta and then the code share partner Air France.
THat is an AirFrance flight. Delta codeshares with AirFrance in many routes - this is one of them
It is not Delta that is operating the flight. it is Air France. Regardless they are fine. I flew them to and from PPT in economy. Service was standard, seats were ok. Nothing special, but nothing great.
