Iguazu; How to get from one side to the other

I will be traveling to Iguazu next month and plan to stay 2 nights.

If I fly from Buenos Aires do I need to stay on the Argentinian side.

How easy is it to go from the Argentinian side to the Brazilian side.

Which side is preferable to stay in.

We will be flying out to Rio de Janeiro.

How far are the airports from the Falls?

Any help is appreciated.

It's easy to cross if you have the appropriate papers. You can go by taxi or public bus.

If you go by taxi, you don't even need to get out of the car. Your passport is handed in through the car's window, stamped, and returned to you.

Staying at the Argentina side is cheaper.

And if you go by public bus the driver will collect the passports and do the immigration. Afterwards you get your passport back. You event don't go out of the bus.

If going by taxi do you need to obtain the Visa in advance or is that something the taxi driver can facilitate for you?

No problem. We used a taxi from Argentinian side about 3 weeks ago. Passport get stamped at Argentinian side through window, and taxi driver will wait for you at Brazilian office to clear customs. Cost can't remember - think 200 pessos from Argentinian hotel to hotel in Fox Iguassu Brasil. Arranged with hotel. Not sure about visa if you need one? Hotel cost was similar on both sides.
