Advise on itinerary planned

We are 5 friends planning to visit Bhutan in August 2nd half.

Kindly provide advise on our planned itinerary.

17th Aug : Flight lands at 15:30. Transfer to Thimphu.

18th Aug : Thimphu

19th Aug : Thimphu To Punakha

20th Aug : Punakha to Gangtey

21st aug: Gangtey

22nd Aug : Gangtey to Paro

23rd Aug : Tiger's Nest

24th Aug : cha le pass

25th Aug : early morning flight.

We intend to cover Ha Pass and cha le pass.

Below are few of my concern:

Does the above itinerary allow the coverage of above mentioned places.

Is the plan to cover Punakha and Gangtey doable.

Contact info of car driver /guide.

Itinerary is fine. But are you on package tour or free and easy?

If free and easy, your dates are not possible.

You can get your permit to Bhutan at Paro airport to Thimphu and Paro only. To travel out of Thimphu and Paro, you need to apply route permit in Thumphu permit office. This can be only done during weekday office hour.

Hence, you need to reach Bhutan one or two days early, so that on your Day 2 in Thimphu, you are on weekday where you can apply the route permit.

Remember to get all the hotel confirmations printout. You will need that for permit.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

It is not a package tour. Thanks for reminding us it would be a weekend and permit office would be closed.

So, in that case could I re-organize such that our trip starts from Paro, spend 17, 18 and 19th covering local sightseeing and tiger's nest respectively and then go to Thimphu and Punakha and plan return to Paro on 23rd evening and 24 th for che-le pass.

For such itinerary should we hire a point to point can or one cab for whole trip.

In Paro and Thimphu, it is easier to grab a local cab to travel. But only 4 pax in a cab because the local cabs are usually small Indian cars.

Even Paro airport has cabs avaliable.

However, you need to hire the whole cab to bring you to Gangtay and Haa.

In Punakha, you also need to hire the cab for whole day as cab in Punakha is not easy accessible.

PLease check, as I've seen that also for Tiger's Nest you'll need the inner-line permit. The entry permit is valid only for Paro and Thimphu. Please ask a local poster, hopefully one will come around soon.Otherwise ask at the airport, you can make changes in your plans on the spot.

About the taxi: you might get a better deal if you hire the driver for the whole trip, ask when you exit the airport.

Thanks for the concern. We are from India.

As far as Google search, it seems just the permit at airport is enough.
