mid November in Half Moon Bay

We are considering a trip to Half Moon Bay in mid November. Any concerns with the weather? On a previous trip we were there in late October and had wonderful weather. We already know where will be staying so it is just of matter when to come. We ran into the Pumpkin Patch traffic on our first visit to HMB and it took us 1.5 hours to get down the drive. It will be just my husband and myself. Our plans are to make HMB home base and do day trips from there.

Half moon bay is a nice town. It will be cool by mid-november but it is anyone's guess if it will rain by then. HMB does get crazy before Halloween and for the Pumpkin festival but other than that it should be ok. Day trips from there humm Sure. There are some good restaurants there from Pasta Moon to Sam's Chowder to HMB brewing company to a tiny taqueria place on Hwy 1. The Ritz has a very expensive sunday buffet but their restaurant was dinged by the SF critic

I see you have been to SF before so HMB will be a nice change of pace to see the Coastal part of the bay area.

We love HMB and have actually been there a couple of times. Being from OKlahoma, we love the time near the beach. First time were were in Half Moon Bay we had a beautiful sunset and a wonderful walk on the beach. We spent a week in the bay area as I had never been to Northern California. We did several things while there.

Walked the Pier area., Krissy Field, Saw all 3 bridges, short visit to Treasure Island, Half Moon Bay on 2 different days, Point Reyes, Security Now podcast at TWIT studio in Petaluma, trip to Napa Valley for the day, we got to attend an Apple festival at the wharf the day we arrived. We did some small road time just to see the area and enjoy the weather.

Last April, I took time to take a trip to Santa Cruz and Sunset Beach near Watsonville. Stopped to take several pics along the way back north. Loved the white beach at Sunset. We fell in love with area around the harbor at HMB and plan to visit there again. We had planned to do a walk to the Mavericks area which is not far from we stayed but we had to leave earlier than expected.

We personally like the quiet time away from the hussle and bussle of SF. It is close enough if we want to see the city we can be there in less than hour, if not we can just enjoy time at the beach and the views. We at at Half Moon Bay Brewing last time and have been to Sam's Chowder and liked both.

If you ever get to Oklahoma City or Tulsa, we can tell you places to see and try.

October is one of our most delightful months along the coast

by November it can be cold and rainy

but who knows - we are basically in a drought here and its been like summer the entire year.

Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival is the busiest week-end there - this year is October 13 and 14 this year, so just plan to come any time after that.
