Can someone recommend good restaurants in Healdsburg or nearby?
There seem to be endless choices of excellent restaurants right in the town of Healdsburg. Some of my favorites are: Zin (334 Center St.), Cena Luna (241 Healdsburg Ave.), Dry Creek Kitchen @ Hotel Healdsburg (317 Healdsburg Ave.), Bistro Ralph (109 Plaza St.), Restaurant Charcuterie (335 Healdburg Ave.), and Madrona Manor (1001 Westside Rd.). All but Madrona Manor and Cena Luna also serve lunch at least some days during the wk. A wonderful place for a casual meal or lunch is the Oakville Grocery, a goumet deli (124 Matheson St.).
The Dry Creek Kitchen at the Hotel Healdsburg is really good. The tasting menu there was included with our room price.
In Geyserville, we had a very elegant fixed price lunch at the Chateau Souverain winery. The Alexander Valley Grille is the name of the restaurant there. :)
Yes--the restaurant at Chateau Souverain in Geyserville (just no. of Healdsburg, off Independence Ln.) IS still a great place for lunch or dinner. During warm weather the views from their dining terrace are wonderful. This property is now in the hands of the Coppola empire and has been renamed Francis Coppola Winery. (The owners of the Chateau Souverain label have moved that operation to their Asti facility from what I've heard). Coppola just took over March 1st and we visited them yesterday during their "moving in" sale. Happily, the dining experience at the restaurant (don't recall what they've renamed it) is just has top notch as ever. Coppola will keep their Napa facility (renamed Rubicon) as the home of their estate wines and the Geyserville property will be now be used for their non-estate wines. I'm looking forward to seeing and experiencing the changes they have in store for the former Chateau Souverain property. I just hope they don't change it TOO much!
We just got back from Healdsburg, and had an awesome time. We really enjoyed Bistro Ralph and Willi's Seafood bar. Service and food were terrific in both spots. My husband is still raving about the chicken liver appetizer at Bistro Ralph! I had the duck confit and it was nicely done. Willi's is a tapas style restaurant. We really enjoyed the hamachi, calamari, and the oysters. Our server recommended the scallops, but they weren't our favorite. We book our reservation beforehand on Opentable.com for Willi's, and were able to walk in at Bistro Ralph's. Bon Appetit!
I'm glad you enjoyed Willi's, we had a very nice lunch there last month. We sampled several different items, all were very good! :)
Cyrus' chef Douglas Keane just won the James Beard award for best chef, pacific coast.
That's fantastic and well-deserved!!! :)
I loved Wili's and Cena Luna.
Have a great trip!
