Picnic Supplies

We are planning on grabbing some picnic supplies in Santa Barbara before heading out for a day of wine tasting. I've read about Lazy Acres and the Public Market...which do you think would be best for sandwiches (thinking french bread loaded with deli meats and cheeses)?? :-)

Or another place that opens early that you'd suggest?

Lazy Acres is very expensive though good.

There is a Ralphs supermarket, with a big deli counter, right downtown on Carillo. Next door to it is a good Italian grocery/deli with made to order sandwiches. Between the two, you can get everything you'll need.

Of course there are also delis and restaurants in the wine country. We like Los Olivos Cafe, though it is often crowded.

I would go to Cantwell's market on State Street.

Another great place to try is C'est Cheese. They have an amazing assortment of cheeses, or you could pick up pre-made sandwiches, salads and other delicious side items. Enjoy the picnic and wine tasting!
