Is one afternoon enough for Glenwood Springs Adventure Park?

We are a family of 5 with 3 kids (15, 9, 3). Do you think we can do 1/2 day rafting trip in the morning and then head to the park around 3 pm? Will it give us enough time there?

The park is open from 9am to9pm in the summer, you should have plenty of time to play. Grind is a great place to grab a burger and a shake if you're hungry.

that should be plenty of time, everything is in close proximity up there--cave tour, rides, etc. so that helps. If the family is tired from rafting too you may find it's enough after a couple hours and you have about six hours so that should be plenty to explore the rides there since it's not a full on amusement park. Still it has a good amount of fun to explore there. The alpine coaster is a hit.

In addition to the Grind which looks great if you're there longer try the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company the atmosphere is great for the family, the food is delicious and the younger two kids will enjoy their food on a nice commemorative Frisbee.

We were there recently on a Thursday, arriving at the ticket office shortly after 5 p.m., and leaving at around 7:30. We were just interested in the two caves, and in the second cave we were the only ones on the tour. I was really surprised but our guide said that wasn't unusual considering how late in the day it was. She said that a lot of families come up for the day, and don't want to eat dinner up on the mountain, so they leave.

Be aware of the weather - rides can be closed at any time because of it. When we were there, it had gotten quite windy and looked like it was about to rain. They closed the tram and we rode a school bus back down to our car. Have fun - you will love the cavern tours.
