Running trails--cocoa, cocoa village area, river front park

Visiting parents last week of March. Would like to find some nice running trails - 3-5 miles. Heard Cocoa Village or Riverfront park area along the water is good. Anyone ever been or know anything about this? Thanks for any help

Many people do run along the Indian River over in Cocoa, but that is on the mainland, 8 miles west of Cocoa Beach. There are private properties just to the north and south of the parks, so the course is limited.

For unobstructed courses that go for miles, most people just run along the packed sands of the ocean beaches, which have public access for 15-20 miles from Jetty Park south. I would just go north one day, and south the next for variety.

If you want to stay on the streets, try using Ocean Beach Blvd and Ridgewood Avenue, which run a block or two off the beach, has wide shoulders for some portions, and doesn't have much traffic. Also, run out Minutemen Causeway west from downtown CB. Finally, a very pleasant run is along SR 520 west from the beach, as there is a several-mile stretch that crosses the Banana River, isn't built up, and has no cross streets.
