We'll be enjoying two days in Pensacola in early April and my son and I are interested in trying our hand at fishing. As this will be our inaugural time out, we'd like to keep it on the shorter side. From what I can tell, the shorter fishing trips are the inshore ones and most of those start at 4 hours; are there shorter options or is this pretty standard? I've run across the term "walk-on charters;" does this mean what it sounds like...that we could just walk up, pay, and join the trip? Does anyone know which companies offer this option?
For the charters that are reservation-based, how do those work if there are only two of us and the ship carries up to 4 or 6 anglers? Would it be likely that we could be paired with other anglers and split the costs?
