Dune Trail Head At Snail Road

I just wanted to suggest you go to Snail Road at the intersection of Route 6A in Provincetown.

Do go and try to hike up the Dunes quite an adventure. It takes almost one hour and is well worth it. It is in a hidden spot and I was taken there by a friend who has a house nearby.

I'm surprised that you are allowed on the dunes.

That is a really wonderful hike. Seems like you've traveled to another world when you're out on the dunes. We've never seen many other people when we've been out there. It also takes you past some of the dune shacks. It's a rare experience.

On one recent visit to Ptown, I stopped there and walked on the dunes while my wife and daughter sat in the car for like a 1/2 hour. They said WHERE were you, I said walking in the dunes. Truly a rare experience.

I have never done it but a friend hiked it with his kids and mine in-season. There is very limited parking so it does not get too crowded.

Better put on your Lawrence-of-Arabia gear if you go on a sunny day. during the summer..it's a brutal walk in soft sand over the dunes.

The sand dune is deep but worth the hike.

It most certainly is...just trying to let everyone know that it is not for the casual stroller.

You are right about that Yellowbird. That is why my teens went with my fitter friend and his teens -- lol!
