Fall color

How are the fall colors near Detroit in mid October? I am wondering if Michigan is a good place to see fall leaves?

Indeed Michigan is a lovely place to see the fall color, but the prettiest places are north or northwest of Detroit. The Sleeping Bear Dunes region, Straits of Mackinaw and the Upper Peninsula are great choices. The UP sometimes has peak color in late September-early October. Early to mid October for the northern lower peninsula is typical.

Fantastic link John. I have been to two of, but never atop of Boyne Mountain. The link above is a great photo of Bond falls in fall. Worth noting, metro Detroit does offer very nice parks themselves, west, northwest and north of town. thanks for the link shortner Yooper
