Charming place to stay for a weekend in Walker, MN

Normally stay at Chase on the Lake, but all rooms filled due to weddings. Any ideas for lakeside charming stays in that area in September?

It should be easy to find a place in September. I've gone to Crow Wing Crest resort in Akeley for many years; it's on a quiet lake nine miles southwest of Walker and has cabins in all price ranges.

In Walker, there's really just an AmericInn besides Chase on the Lake. It's not on the lake, but it's very close to the Heartland Trail. You could also try Embracing Pines B&B on the Kabekona River. It's six miles northwest of town. On Kabekona Lake, try the quiet Cry of the Loon Lodge.

Resorts on Leech Lake include Anderson's Northland Lodge, Huddle's Resort and the new Trapper's Landing Lodge, all on the south shore 15 minutes east of Walker.
