June weather & fishing

Looking for a Minnesota expert for help. We usually vacation/fish Whitefish Lake/Leech Lake in August. Yes - weather is hot! We are thinking of switching it up this year and heading North June 9-16. Will it still be chilly at that time? How is fishing then? Thanks

June weather is quite variable. It can freeze at night and it can be in the mid 80's during the day, sometimes just a day apart. Thunderstorms with high winds are quite possible too.

Some people really like the fishing in June. With cooler water the fish may be in shallower water.

Typically June will be cooler than August. Who knows this year! Still trying to figure out how March was warmer than April.

It should be easier to find a cabin opening then. The core tradiitonal family vacation time is august because that is when all the kids sports leagues shut down.
