Visiting STL - any fun spots for a 14 year old?

We are coming to St Louis from Southern Cali, and need suggestions for spots to see with a 14 year old boy. We are hitting a Cardinals Game since we love baseball. But he is too old for zoo, city musesum & magic house. Any ideas? We are foodies too!

He most certainly is not too old for City Museum. I'd say 13-17 is the perfect age to even start enjoying it (and I appreciate it, let's say, *decades* later). Not sure where what you're basing that opinion on, but if I was 14 and my parents skipped City Museum, I'd hold it against them for years :)

For sure a visit to City Museum is great at that age...And my 14 year old still loves our zoo. You could do the tour of the stadium and the museum.

Maybe the Science Museum? Depends on his likes.

I would suggest a meal on the Hill and trying out bbq - my 14 yr old loves Sugarfire's.

My family still loves the zoo (including adult daughters). Never too old for that!

We're all on board with the City Museum, obviously. I wonder why you thought he'd be too old? There are two or three places to grab a beer even. He might like it better at night, that's when the 20-somethings go.

Definitely City Museum. Maybe the Arch or Brewery tours?

What types of hobbies or interests does he have? That might lead to other suggestions.

I concur with the other comments about the City Museum.

Grant's Farm is another unique place. President Ulysses Grant used to live here, and later the land was bought by the Anhueser-Busch family. You pay to park your car, but otherwise admission is free. Also free are the animal shows and the tram ride through the safari-animal park.
