For first timers, how long should you really stay in Vegas

As a first timers, my boyfriend and I are going stay 5 days / 4 nights in Nov 2015. I was wondering if that was a good starting point. I see people who do the weekends or the whole week. I want to be able to get the feeling and excitement for Vegas but not overdue it.

For us, 3 - 4 days is about the right stay. Now, if one gambles, and enjoys myriad casinos, they could easily occupy another 2 days.

Enjoy!

That's perfect. You'll be ready to go home but not feel like you missed anything.

Our first visit was 6 days. It depends on what you want to do. Believe it or not, we enjoyed museums and exhibitions while in Vegas as well as wanting to take in some of the desert scenery. We took in lots of shows, gambling and saw the usual sites as well. I would say that 5 days is perfect for a first visit.

After more than 20 years, I've found 6-7 days is ideal. But I gamble most of the time. From downtown to Mandalay Bay, you could see all the must-see's, and do all the must-do's in 5 days. Just do one section of the Strip each day, and one day and evening downtown.

After more than 20 years ..... my doctor has prohibited me from staying any longer than 3 nights !! Haha .....

I just act way too stupid to be there longer than that. Been 40-50 times, only longer than 3 nights twice, and one was a "work" trip.

3 nights is our max. I get to worn out and my wallet can't keep up. Hahaha. It always leaves me wanting more which is how I like it.

I would imagine people who go for a few nights can get to Vegas in a few hours, so they go for shorter stays but go more often. For the rest of us who have a farther distance to travel, there are many things to consider. Is the length of the trip worth the price and time of travel? Will you be back? Are there enough things you want to see and do to keep you occupied? How long can you afford to stay? How long can your liver hold up?

We've been a bunch of times and our upcoming trip will be our shortest, like yours, just four nights. I'm already a little anxious because I don't feel like it's enough (but we'll have been travelling for almost two weeks at that point so we may just be exhausted and want to get home).

5 Days/4 nights will be perfect. Enough time to do/see things without feeling too rushed. We used to stay three nights but felt like not enough time to really enjoy. 4 Nights is our usual and it seems perfect amount of time to be relaxed without feeling like we overstayed.

Our very first trip in I believe 1994 we stayed 3 nights and it was too short. Then the next year we went to 4 nights which was long enough to do quite a bit, then 5, then 6, and now we are up to 10 ! We love it because we now know where to go, how to get around, and everything is familiar. And we take time to really relax. Make sure you use player's cards as they will send you some free rooms for your NEXT trip! Have fun!

It also depends on the pace at which you 'attack' the city...

If you are going to be hitting the day club with a large drink minimum spend, and then pre-gaming in your room, and onto bottle service at a nightclub, you might need to limit yourself to only a couple of nights in a row.

Whereas if you are going to spend the day relaxing at the family pool, or hiking Red Rock Canyon or shopping the Outlet Malls, followed by dinner-and-a-show then you can stretch it out to a week or more quiet easily.
