I was truly surprised and disappointed with my recent visit to Cape May. The boutiques were overpriced. For a tourist town I expected more reasonable prices. The service and food at Mad Batter were dreadful! The Lobster House is not accommodating to people in your group wanting different food choices (one menu inside and a separate menu outside). The Cotton Company salesperson returned a damaged item back to the rack without marking it as damaged. And if they’re going to charge for parking the least they could do is get someone to spellcheck the electronic parking meter (authorizing not authorising).

Hmmm ok I love Cape May sorry you had a bad experience. The Mad Batter is a great restaurant. If I was you I wouldn’t go back. Lol. More parking for me

Reasonable prices in a tourist town? Have you not vacationed anywhere in the past century???

And I'm not sure what your complaint is about the Lobster House. Basically, it's two different restaurants with the difference menus. They're not going to swap menus. It's up to your party to all sit in an area where everyone will be happy. That's not the restaurant's fault.

The mis-spelling is embarrassing, although it's probably the vendor that messed that up!

Cape May is high end I don’t think the prices are high. It’s a stunning town and beach. Maybe you would like Ocean City md. Or some of the Delaware beaches.

I am not sure, but NJ Traveler 80 and Traveler 059 in NJ may be the same person. Neither seems to be satisfied with anything in Cape May, so why go there? Anyway, I would take any criticism by either with a grain of salt.JMO.

Well, differant people like differant things

Your experience at the Cotton Company should not have happened and you have every right to complain

As to pricing- our experience is that the entire Jersey Shore is overpriced- which is why we seldom shop on our vacation there- the exception being Cape May Wicker in West Cape May and the shop at Sunset Beach, which have good pricing

My wife will sometimes buy gifts at Washington Street Mall if she finds something unusual- but there are certainly no bargains there.l

We have not eaten at Lobster House in years- mostly because of the ridiculous lines.

We like Mad Batter and the Waldorf Chicken salad wrap is one of my wife's favorites although she did not have it this year.

Service there can be good or bad as at many shore restaurants- which we have always attributed to the quality(or lack thereof) of Summer help.

Sorry your experience was negative- obviously many people have had differant experiences.

"Authorising" is the correct spelling of the word using British English. If the meter was manufactured in a country that relies on UK English, it's spelled properly.

But really? THAT was a problem for you?????
