Have a trip coming up to Skyline Lodge in Highlands from either Greenville SC, Anderson SC or even Charlotte if the roads are better. Husband has height issues but does well in Boone and Blowing Rock, NC to compare. Also wanting to visit Cashiers and Sapphire. Thanks for any advice!

The only road that can truly scare someone with height issues is the one from Highlands NC to Franklin NC.

In my opinion the next worse is the road from walhalla to Highlands.

Other roads approaching from the east / southeast are curvy in areas, but generally don't have the steep cliifs and dropoffs.

Highlands is on a 4200+ plateau... No issues once you are there.

If hiking, many good restaurants, waterfalls, shopping, swimming, and more are of interest, Highlands is a great place to visit and stay.

No chain hotels or restaurants. A true escape from mainstream suburbia! And refreshing temps and mountain air!
