Grand Palladium Vallarta Room Tips, Late Check Out, etc.

Planning my first trip to the Puerto Vallarta side of Mexico and was hoping to get some tips.

One of the things I was hoping to hear more about was if anyone know's how the late check-out policy works at this hotel. My flight with Sunwing doesn't depart until 7:30 pm, so I was hoping to stay at the hotel in the meantime.

Also, what would be a good building/room advise for two mid-twenty year old girls who will likely be staying up late and would like to be located in a convenient area of the resort so we don't have to walk a long time to get to the entertainment and food.

If anyone has any "must see" attractions or towns or places I can take the Collectivo to for something neat to do, please let me know! I'm always interested in those hidden gems.

Thank you,

You get to use resort after checkout, which is 11am. They store suitcases. They have shower rooms.

To book late check Cost $$.

Building #1 close to Adult pool.

Building #2 close to disco..

No collecctiivo in area.,only local bus.. long, long drive to Puerto Vallarta and clubs,.

Bucerias town to south ,you pass from airport to resort.) Has some good bars. Bus stops running early evening.

Bus 1/2 hour ride. Cabs at gate. Google,, Best of Bucerias ....for trip info..

Read reviews, .can ask questions there also.

Several (maybe 5) years ago, collectivos started running from Sayulita to the area by the Sheraton Hotel in Puerto Vallarta and back up to Sayulita. I'm pretty sure they stick to Highway 200, but you may be able to transfer to another collectivo that goes through Nuevo Vallarta. (A while back, I rode on one that let me off by the Hard Rock, across from the casino and San Javier hospital.)

Melissa, the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta would be a "can't miss" destination for you. (Sorry, I can't tell you about any "Hidden Gems" because if you knew about them, they wouldn't be Hidden Gems anymore. LOL!)

There are many markets in the area including the La Cruz market on Sunday 10 minutes away .

Lots of places to surf including at your resort.

For Mt bikes and boards try Wildmex 5 minutes away. http://wildmex.com/

A trip to Vista Paraiso 20 minutes away in Higuera Blanca is a must. Away from the crowds of Nuevo Vallarta, Marina Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta and the cruise ship traffic that jam pack the tours. Vista Paraiso will pick you up at the Palladium Lobby and drop you off at the lobby. Pick up times at 8:35, 11:35 and 2:35. An easy 4 hour day vs 8 hours with the other tours your hotel reps may try to sell you. Vista Paraiso are by far the largest zip line area in all of Puerto Vallarta.

I went zip lining with them on a cruise ship day at noon and there were 5 people. Last tour I did with them was horseback riding on a cruise ship day. There were 5 people on the noon tour.

Be careful of some of the tours that pick you up at Palladium. It could be by big bus and will stop at the Rius. I made that mistake once. Although amusing seeing the most crowded hotel lobbies I have ever seen in the world ,it added an extra hour plus to my tour. Refuse any tour that goes to the Rius for pick up.

I'm sure you will visit Sayulita but try to get to San Pancho/ San Francisco 10 minutes further.

Punta Mita and La Cruz each 10 minutes away have lots of boating/ocean tours. You might like this one.

The bus is easy and fun to do. Taxis unfortunately can be expensive going north short distances. Much cheaper to the south once you get to La Cruz.

Enjoy your trip.
