Poconos in winter - what area to stay?

We are thinking of doing a long weekend or a week in the Poconos during the christmas/new years holiday in a vacation rental. There are many options and I'm trying to narrow down the area that would be ideal for large families with kids (ages 8-12) that is not near a casino or busy/noisy parts of the area. What areas would be best that is within 30 min drive from fun activities and also quiet enough for us to have some peace. I've heard Lake Harmony is a good option. If you have other suggestions please reply to this question. Thank you!

Lake Harmony is a good option, right next to big boulder lake and the ski area, just a few minutes from Jack Frost and Blakeslee for groceries. Camelback is a little further away 20-30 minutes, Really all of the rental homes will be relatively quiet, split rock, lake naomi, pocono pines. Honestly, I don't know where the big noisy area is.

Thanks. Do you know if any of the locations have a indoor pool recreation center that allows rental guests to use for a fee?

If you're thinking of a week ? Then best bet with kids would be renting a home. Albrightsville, PA Towamensing Trails is a nice area. You can rent a home (cabin) with a gameroom to kept kids busy.

FYI!

You will be paying top dollar during the holiday season !

Have a great time......
