Generally quiet as many of the holidaymakers are elderly and or Northern Europeans.

Seek out bars where there is a bit of music or karaoke. They should be busier.

Look at the area around Veronicas Strip..it is mainly 18_30 age group..although not the busiest time of year..normally plenty going on..or La Paz Strip at the back of Safari Center lots of bars with ehtertainment..something to suit most tastes.

People are getting scared to give there opinions in case it upsets some of the regulars on here, but I am not one of them.

Veronicas is for the 18 to 25 age group, they love the area, but its riddled with crime and drugs, the only place that is worse is the La Paz strip, which is the polar opposite, pensioners paradise, with loads of has been acts and half pint all night old fogeys.

Have a trip to Veronicas and see for yourself, but be very careful, or take a trip to the Paz and move on when you see how grim it is.

Either place is only a five minute walk to some fine establishments.

The patch is a good area you have the Dubliner- street level before 12 or downstairs after 12. Upstairs you have a fella with guitar who plays a good mix. Downstairs a group until three ish. You also have the Drunken Duck which has a couple of different acts each night and a good card game called "sticky" Also other bars Jags, Brewers Droop, sax bar to name a few.

Don't agree about La Paz strip being "pensioners paradise" not my first choice but ok for a couple of drinks, some places take the pee with the drink prices.

Enjoy

As you arrive on the 6th Jan which is Canarians Christmas " The Three Kings " most bars and restaurants will be busy mainly with families .You may also find some that are closed as they hold private celebrations for their own guests .

The areas of Starcos / Veronicas based on a holiday some years back went very quiet after New Year was over from the younger crowd of UK nationals ,but livened up on a weekend with Northern Europeans and locals.Other areas suggested The Patch / The Paz Strip remained busy whilst we where there through to mid January as did many of the bars on the edges of these main entertainment areas .
