Welcome to the forum. Well, this might be a long day. Both of the canyons are reasonably close. Zebra Gulch is a nice half-day outing and fairly accessible by car with caution. I have not hiked Red Breaks but I believe it's substantially longer. While you can just do what you do, I'm thinking the combo would be too much for one day.
One key thing when planning outings like this, it will ALWAYS take a lot longer than you plan. This is especially true if the area is new to you. You'll find yourself in decision making positions that simply take a little time.
From what I've experienced and read Red Breaks is a full day trip. I wouldn't plan to try them both in one day.
Which of the two would be the best to do? Interested in hiking, exploring, pics, etc.
I personally like Red Breaks, but it needs good planning and a whole day to explore. You can access it from the bottom from Harris Wash, or come in from the high side, on the old Sheffield Rd off of rt 12. High clearance 4WD if you choose the Sheffield rd.
Probably a lot easier to access Zebra from Hole in the Rock Rd. If you do Zebra slot you are only a short hike from Tunnel slot which would be a logical addition to this hike. Be prepared to get wet feet in both slots.
Hey PG, is Red Breaks where we hiked to the Alien Ant Head?
Yes Ziggy it's part of the east area, along the outside, of all the different. slot canyon branches.
So if you had to choose one, which one would it be and why?
I would choose Red Breaks. it goes and goes and goes for most of a day..
While Zebra is short and sweet..Plus the pool of water in front of it is more than many would want to deal with.Edited: 01 July 2018, 07:58
Thanks for the help!!! Are the canyons in Red Breaks as beautiful as Zebra?
