Which Utah national park would you hit from Park City?

We are staying in Park City July 1-5 and then wanted to spend 2 days at a National Park such as Moab or Bryce...wish we had time for both! Any suggestions on which to choose, or any other options you'd suggest from Park City? We need to be back for our flight home out of SLC on July 7.

We have 3 kids, ages 14, 11 and 6, and are active/enjoy hiking.

Welcome to the forum. Both Moab and Bryce are about four hours from Park City. If you only have two days, I probably would steer you to Bryce. But either could work. If your flight is in the afternoon on July 7, you can realistically leave either town that morning to go direct to the airport.

If you go to Bryce, try this plan to maximize the activity:

July 5 - Drive Park City to Torrey; hike Little Wild Horse Canyon slot canyon and visit Goblin Valley en route

July 6 - Drive scenic route 12 to Bryce - amazing drive; sunset at Bryce

July 7 - Sunrise at Bryce then head to SLC

Have fun.

Are you only doing 1 night away from Park City?

If so, go with Bryce. If you feel like you want to add a little more consider Little Wild Horse Canyon or Goblin Valley while on the way to Bryce - again if it's only 1 night at Bryce, you probably only have time for Bryce.

You really need 3 nights minimum for Moab - you could kind of do it with 2 nights, but for only 1 night it's not worth the bother.

Another options would be to spend some time on the Mirror Lake Scenic Drive - you could potentially do this with one of you days Jul 1-5 in addition to the national park.
