Going to see Toots & the Maytalls?
The last outdoor Farmer's Market of the season is going on earlier in the day in City Hall Park near Church Street and Main. It's a fun event to walk around and sample different food and drinks. As you know, lots of places to get beer in Burlington. There's a number of breweries along Pine Street just south of downtown. My wife is more of a wine drinker as well, but enjoys the hard ciders that have become real popular lately, and Citizens Cider on Pine Street is a good place to test some out. I can't think of any live music during the day. This is late in the year for festivals. We have one just about every weekend all summer long and into September but not this time of year.
If you're late night people, last call downtown is 2 a.m. If you are at Higher Ground, it's a quick cab ride down, most shows there are done by 11:30 or so. Nectar's usually has live music on Saturdays and isn't totally flooded by college students like some of the other bars on Saturday nights.
