LDJ to Verona and Padua

We are coming to lido days before our son turns 2 for 10 days are beginning of June

Planning on going to Verona and Padua

Is it worth booking ahead we want to get god weather on visits is it cheaper to book head or is there a train station where we can buy on the day tickets?

Thanks

For LdJ to Padova, you'll be taking first bus 10A to Mestre station, and from there either bus 3 or train to Padova (16 mins on R trains going to Verona) - either way, no need to book.

For LdJ to Verona, the same except that you would continue by train. If taking the Frecciabianca train (58 mins to Verona Porta Nuova), this requires reservations and it would be cheaper to buy up to 120 days in advance. However, you can perfectly well take the slower R train (1h15, currently departing Venezia-Mestre at 24 mins past each hour on weekdays) where it makes no difference to the price and is better to buy on the day.
