Camano v Whidbey

We are considering a second home on Whidbey and enjoy the various town centers there for shopping and restaurants. How does Camano Island compare in this aspect? I don't see any town centers...? Thanks!

There's MUCH more in the way of commercial services on Whidbey. Camano is far more residential; people depend on Stanwood for most of their commercial/shopping needs. Whidbey is also much more diverse in terms of landscapes, activities etc.

Thank you. It does appear this way on maps.

I know that if commuting to work was not part of your decision I would choose Whidbey hands down.

Whidbey is SO much nicer, with much more commercial activity. Camano feels more remote and would be quieter. It’s very peaceful.

Whidbey is beautiful! I have not been to the other island. There are some great places to eat there also. Gordon's On Blueberry Hill is one of our favorites in Freeland. 😎
