Close restaurants to I70 in Wheeling

Looking for a restaurant off I70 in Wheeling, WV, for lunch. Fast food or home cooking or your favorite. Don't want to travel more than a half mile from I70 if possible. Thanks.

Tj's Sports Garden has great food (wings, fish sandwich, etc). Right off the Oglebay exit... maybe 500 feet.

Figaretti's Italian restaurant is amazing. Lunch specials and dinner specials. Been in business nearly 70 years. Exit 2B at Washington Avenue.

Anything else next to the Interstate would be your typical chain restaurant (Bob Evans, Applebee's, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel. There are some great restaurants and hidden gems... but they aren't next to the Interstate.

Just east of Wheeling is a large Cabela's right on I-70, Cabela's maintains a larger restaurant with some interesting wild game items.

Near the Cabela's parking lot is Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen.

This is at at off/on ramp.

llimnerlimner:

Just noticed ( in another of your posts) that you are interested in enjoying some activities during your WV trek.

Do stop at Cabela's near Wheeling (East on I-70.)

Take your camera/smart phone for some interesting photos.

Cabela's and similar Outdoors/Sports stores are the stuff of true Mountaineers!

Goto the Cabela's Bargain Cave.

Gortex and snow and outdoors activities are central to the "Mountain State."

One shall find a great collection of Gortex Tunics and boots here; Other Outdoors Sports stores will offer similar products, and we cannot pass up any Outdoors Sports store.

As born and Bred Mountaineers, we were taught to love all outdoors seasons in WV and have a "bring it on attitude."

We recommend re-visiting Canaan Valley and Snowshoe in the depths of winter and again for great "spring skiing."

We are betting that this will be the first of many trips to Wild, Wonderful WV.

We cannot imagine a true Mountaineer who hates snow.

"off I70 in Wheeling, WV, for lunch,"

If you should decide to travel east through Wheeling do visit Cabela's.

Game is on the menu, and the restaurant is very informal and "priced right."

We know the children shall be delighted with the indoor mountain; take the camera indoors.

We do not recommend the "free ball hat."
