Camping grounds - first come first serve

Looking for recommendations for camping groups. We don’t have reservations for any sites yet but we do have a teardrop trailer booked

There is plenty of camping along scenic Rt 128 on BLM land that is first come, first serve along with other areas: http://discovermoab.com/blm-campgrounds/

Each campsite will give you info on what length of RV it can handle along with other facilities!

There are also a few free campsites on Rt. 279, north of Moab.

And at the junktion 191/313 is a large parking space where you can stay overnight.

Much of the land on the east side of US191 north of Moab is open for dispersed camping on both Federal BLM land and state SITLA land. We like the area on Dalton Well Road maybe a mile off the highway. Very easy to pull a trailer or RV into there. You should have a toilet with you on those sites. You would never have an issue finding a spot in that area.

Have fun.

There are two routes you can go:

1) BLM lands - these are improved campgrouds - the discover moab lists these

2) Free dispersed camping - TumbleweedandCactus explains this well.

Both have pros and cons 1) you may have to check several sites before you find an open spot and it costs a little money but the sites are nicer 2) probably easier to find a spot, free, probably more private, but not as nice.

Also as a back up there are a couple very simple commercial sites where you can almost always get a spot: 1) Parking lot at the Gemini Bridges dirt road right off US 191 and 2) Mill Canyon about 1/2 mile down a dirt road off US 191.
