Asheville-2 night trip

We're planning on driving to Asheville on our way home from a trip and staying overnight for 2 nights. Looking to stay at Cambria downtown. Is 2 nights enough time? We'll have our 1.5 and 3.5 year old daughters with us. My husband is a huge craft beer lover, but also looking to see a little of the smokies too. Any suggestions of things to do? Is that enough time for us to see a snippet of the city?

Take the Blue Ridge Parkway SW to Cherokee then in to the Visitors Center in the Park. There is a great 'pioneer' farm to explore. It's a long ride but it's beautiful scenery the entire way with pull offs.

"Is two nights enough time?"

No, it is not. It is better than no nights, though. ;)

Seriously, there are so many things to see and do in Asheville and the surrounding area, you couldn't even make a dent in it on such a short visit. But even in the short time you have you will have a great experience, I'm sure. Don't know exactly what you mean by seeing "a little of the Smokies". If you are talking about the national park, it is a bit of a drive to get there, and more driving once you've reached the entrance. Not sure it's worth taking the time for that, but the good news is that you can get plenty of exposure to the beauty and grandeur of the mountains by taking a drive either north or south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just an hour or so in either direction will be well rewarded with stunning views. As for the city itself, yes there are plenty of breweries there, and most are kid-friendly. You should reserve a morning or afternoon to just walk around the downtown area--Broadway, Patton Ave., Haywood St., Grove Arcade, plenty of interesting shops and restaurants to check out. And if you are there on Friday night, be sure to stop by the drum circle at Pritchard Park. I'm sure your kids would love it.

All of the breweries are family-friendly to some degree, but some are very kid-friendly, with play areas, toys, games, etc., especially Asheville Brewing and Pizza downtown and Sierra Nevada out by the airport( the Taj Mahal of breweries)
