Best seafood and bars at a decent price

Hello

Will be in Boston area Saturday - Monday staying in Dedham. Looking for great seafood place plus a good spot to hang out to hit a bunch of local drinking establishments in one area at a decent price. Can we do that around Dedham or will we need to go down town? Am I able to take the rail in? Looks like I can go from Dedham to south station. Or should we use uber? Thanks

There's a "Legal C Bar" in Legacy Place in Dedham, part of the Legal Seafood family, but more hip. Good bar scene and very good seafood. That's probably the best seafood option in Dedham. There's also a Yard House and Met(ropolitan) Bar in the same complex for adult beveraging.

The train doesn't run very often at night and on weekends, but if you can make it work you'll be ok. You might need to call a cab or uber from the station in Dedham to get to your lodging or other destinations.

Seafood depends on what you are eating as well. Price of Lobster is a lot different then say Fried Shrimp.

The Franklin Branch of the MBTA's Commuter rail has a couple of stops in Dedham. However, it runs on a fixed schedule and the last train out of Boston is 11:50pm weeknights and 11:20pm on Sat and Sun nights. Bars and clubs can stay open until 2am.

Lobster is expensive at this time of year because most lobster boats are not active in winter. You pay a premium for reduced supply.

Legal has a variety of items besides lobster that will be more reasonably priced. The pub style restaurants near Quincy Market all have fish on the menu and may be a bit more wallet-friendly.

I am not familiar with Dedham at all, perhaps others will have restaurant suggestions there.
