Lubec is a small town in Maine. New Brunswick is an entire province in Canada. There aren't a lot of places to stay and not all that much to do in Lubec. As for New Brunswick, it depends on just where you go.

If you want you can travel from Lubec to New Brunswick by taking the free bridge to Campobello Island (which is in New Brunswick,) then the pay ferry to Deer Island, and then the free ferry to the New Brunswick mainland at L'Etete.

If you make Lubec your home base you can do some exploring in New Brunswick. We took the ferry from Campobello to Deer Island and then the free ferry from Deer Island to mainland New Brunswick. We then drove back to Lubec by way of the border crossing at Calais. Not a whole lot in that area of NB but we did stop off at a few towns on our way back.

St. Andrews, on a small peninsula on the New Brunswick side on the way back toward Maine, is a lovely town. If you time it right, take the Ministers Island tour. (You drive out in a convoy, but only at low tide!)
