1. Re: My Plan --- Feedback appreciated!

oh..after reading your well laid out plan, . I am feeling like I did not plan well for our trip later this month, I booked hotels in the park, Plan to be up early for Hayden Valley and Lamar to see the wildlife, booked the snake river trip and dinner one night at Lake Hotel... other than that I plan to just be in the moment. I was afraid of getting in the many traffic jams that I have read about on his page and getting stressed because I would be late to what I had scheduled... We are staying a few days at the Canyon hotel, and a few at LAke Hotel andthen on to Grand Tetons and Cody.

Your plan offers some good tips on things to see and do. (if It is on my paths). Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Sherry M! It's mostly a list of things I would like to cover but may not have time for all. The weather will likely be the biggest factor on my wish list of hikes. Your river run will be so much fun! I would want to do that sd well if I was going earlier in season. Have a great time! Thanks for your feedback!

^^^ This. Nice plan, but if you plan to eat breakfast and dinner in dining locations each day, sunrise and sunset may not work for photos, as sunrise is about 7 a.m. ans sunset about 7:35 during your trip, but you will work that out.

Sherry, having a list to work from works well for me. Others don't want that. Depends on your travel style, and things open in June and mid-September will differ as things begin to shut down, and construction will have some of the Canyon overlooks closed yet for you. Plenty of things to see and do- you will both have great trips, just because you have a nice amount of days in YNP and can relax and not rush from one spot to another. You can post a trip report and give Sweldon some ideas from your trip as well!

Thanks thbergs! True, I may need to opt for coffee and a doughnut before I head out instead of sit down breakfast. I've been following this site for several months and appreciate your thoughtful responses as well as several other Yellowstone experts. Keep up the good work! For me planning and learning before traveling is half the fun:)

One comment - the Bunnery is very popular. If you want a sit down breakfast be prepared to wait. But you can bypass the sit down line and go to directly to the Bakery for a grab and go breakfast of pastries, etc. The Bunnery is a short walk from Kudar.

"other than that I plan to just be in the moment"

IMO that's a much better approach. To be honest, this moment by moment with times makes me anxious. I simply could not travel this way.

Sherry, know what your options are in different areas, but IMO if there's ANY place to "be in the moment" it's Yellowstone and the Tetons.

Agreed! But, you can have a list of possible options and still be "in the moment" while doing options on that list. Cheers!

Sweldon, you know we want a trip report, right? We like to say before laundry, but you can work that out ;)
